Evan and I are honored to announce the beginning of a new program at Accelerate ACL — the Etai David Gamliel “Climb To Glory” ACL Recovery Scholarship.
Dr. Etai Gamliel served as a lead Physical Therapist for us at Premier Neuro Therapy, a company we started in 2015 utilizing the same technology that’s used at Accelerate ACL.
As a physical therapist, Dr. Gamliel was more dedicated to his craft than any other I’ve met. He had a rare quality to him that allowed him to be extremely intelligent about what’s already known in textbooks, but open minded enough to question and think outside the box.
He always sought to become better for his patients. He wasn’t willing to accept the status quo and was brave and confident enough to challenge others who were. He could hold his view point, while at the same time open himself to things he didn’t know and participate in constructive conversation that helped all parties learn more and become better.
In 2021, Dr. Gamliel transitoned to Fort Drum New York, to serve as a physical therapist for the U.S. Army Ranger’s 10th Mountaineer Division.
In 2023, Dr. Gamliel was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer and lost his battle to the disease in November of 2023, despite his warrior spirit.
I’ve missed him since we stopped working together a few years ago and regret not talking with him more. I’ll miss him now, knowing that he’s not here physically, but know for a fact he’ll continue to be with all of us.

A few months ago, Dr. Gamliel’s mom, Sandy, reached out with an incredible idea. She and her husband wanted to start a scholarship in Etai’s name to support athletes who seek to receive cutting edge care that may not be in their reach financially otherwise. Dr. Gamliel was devoted to his patients always striving to improve his craft with the aim of helping his patients achieve their goals and dreams.
I let Sandy know that we don’t often receive requests for scholarships, but it could be an amazing opportunity for more athletes to be able to access our program.
Within hours of Sandy asking about the scholarship, the parent of an athlete reached out – “Do you offer any scholarships for the program?”
Etai had his hand in creating this scholarship and was pulling the strings to make this happen for the first scholarship recipient.
In August, Accelerate ACL and Dr. Gamliel’s parents awarded the first two scholarships.
We are happy to report that the athletes are doing well and Dr. Gamliel’s passion for healing and helping others continues. Through this scholarship program and Accelerate ACL, Dr. Gamliel will impact, empower, and inspire athletes across the country to climb to higher heights than they ever could have imagined during their ACL recovery.
